The objective of the project
  • To build the basic infrastructure on the main TEN-T corridors and use the data obtained from the operation for the future commercial roll-out of charging infrastructure in the area
  • Support the development of related innovative technologies (energy storage, RES)
  • Promote standardisation in line with the requirements of Directive 2014/94/EU on the deployment of alternative fuel infrastructure
  • Strengthen synergies between the transport and energy sectors, especially in terms of preparing for the future development of the network, especially fast charging stations (analysis of the impact on the distribution system, need to strengthen energy networks, optimisation)
Project content and main outputs
PILOT:
  • Construction of backbone fast charging infrastructure along the main routes (TEN-T network) in the scope of 42 DC fast charging stations
  • 1 site combining 3 DC fast charging stations, energy storage and PV
ANALYTICAL PART/STUDY:
  • IT back-end system
  • Design of products and payment methods
  • Formulation of policy recommendations in the field of regulation
  • Business model update for the rollout of the station network
  • Recommendations for interoperability and roaming, definition of standards and best practices
  • PR and communications, fostering communication and collaboration between stakeholders and the wider public
Budget / support
  • EUR 2.315 million
  • Support up to 85%, i.e., EUR 1.968 million.

LITOMĚŘICE SITE

On 17 December 2018, the ABB public fast charging station in Litoměřice was launched in the presence of Karel Krejza, Member of Parliament of the Czech Republic.

PRAGUE – PRŮMYSLOVÁ SITE

On 11 October 2018, in the presence of representatives of McDonalds ČR, ABB Czech Republic and ČEZ, the operation of a pair of public fast charging stations was launched in the Prague – Průmyslová street.

ELECTROMOBILITY FORUM 2018

At the end of April 2018, a full-day conference was held in Prague – Karlín dedicated to the development of electromobility in the Czech Republic, products and services for corporate customers, and individuals or technological and legislative trends in the Czech Republic and abroad.

LOUČEŇ 2017 & LOUČEŇ 2018

Thanks to the funds from the communication part of the CEF budget, two traditional conferences on clean mobility could take place in Loučeň, Central Bohemia, on 9-10th March 2017 and 12-13th April 2018. The leading domestic experts in the field of alternative fuel vehicles, led by electromobility, presented their visions and discussed future possibilities and development scenarios.

VESTEC SITE

On 2 October 2017, the operation of three ABB public fast charging stations within the charging site in Vestec near Prague was officially launched.

Žebrák Site

On the occasion of launching a pair of fast charging stations in the Žebrák loocation near the D5 motorway, Czech Television broadcasted a report on the construction progress and the technical support and progress of the actual station construction in July 2017.

  • The so-called “pilot and studies”, i.e., a project that combines an analytical part (study) with a pilot implementation
Project objective
  • To reinforce the infrastructure on the main TEN-T corridors and prepare for commercial roll-out
  • Analyse the possibilities of combining fast charging with storage and RES (test a different solution concept than the previous project)
  • Support the implementation of the National Action Plan for Clean Mobility and the Czech Republic's strategy to support the development of electromobility
  • Support regional development of electromobility by preparing analytical documents for regions within the Czech Republic
  • Strengthen the synergies between the transport and energy sectors, especially in terms of preparing for the future development of the network, especially fast charging stations (analysis of the impact on the distribution system, need to strengthen energy networks, optimisation)

PRAGUE – PODĚBRADSKÁ SITE

On 18 July 2019, the 100th public fast charging station operated by ČEZ in the Czech Republic was officially launched in Prague on Poděbradská Street in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Transport and ČEZ.

KOLÍN SITE

On August 27, 2019, a ceremony was held in Kolín in the presence of the city mayor, Michael Kašpar, and the manager of ČEZ's Clean Technology Department, Tomáš Chmelík, to inaugurate the operation of a pair of public fast-charging stations at the new bus station on Dukelských hrdinů Street.

PR AND COMMUNICATION MEASURES, REGULATORY RECOMMENDATIONS

Loučeň

Project objective
  • To promote the availability of alternative fuel infrastructure in the Czech Republic in line with the objectives of the National Action Plan for Clean Mobility
Project content
  • Construction of 125 DC fast charging stations with 50 kW DC and 22 kW AC output in accordance with OPD requirements
  • The stations will be located on the territory of the Czech Republic in 50 areas defined by the OPD call
Budget / support
  • Total eligible expenditure of EUR 129.2 million.
  • 60% support up to CZK 77.5 million.
