Charged within 10 minutes! ČEZ is launching the construction of ultra-fast charging stations for electric cars

*ČEZ has commissioned 10 ultra-fast racks with an output of 150 to 300 kW.

*The ČEZ charging network is comprised of a total of 465 stations, where as many as 930 cars can be recharged at any one time .

* ČEZ already offers 14 locations across the Czech Republic where 6 or more electric vehicles can be charged simultaneously.

Just like a regular petrol station! Drivers of electric cars will not spend more than that amount of time charging their cars at the new ČEZ ultra-fast stands that have an output of 225 or 300 kW, which have sprung up to replace lower power stations along the D1, D5, and D35 motorways. They will soon be available at other busy locations. At the same time, ČEZ is expanding the network of fast stations where several electric cars can be charged at the same time, reducing drivers’ time spent waiting and recharging.

Major energy saving project is launched: The Thomayer University Hospital will save over CZK 7 million annually on energy costs and 2,500 tons of CO2 emissions

 The EPC project will take place in 20 buildings; it is part of the hospital’s modernisation.

 It is the largest EPC project implemented at university hospitals in the Czech Republic, and during full operation.

 Guaranteed annual energy savings of CZK 7.1 million at 2021 prices and 2,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Savings will be even higher in 2022 due to rising energy prices.

 The hospital will reduce gas and electricity consumption by at least 30%.

 The investment will total almost CZK 365 million (excl. VAT), of which the structural cost-saving measures account for CZK 318 million and CZK 47 million will be spent on modern energy-saving technologies.

 The EU subsidy amounts to 45% of the expenditure under the OP EN and 50% will be covered from the state budget. Other costs will be paid from the hospital’s budget.

The Thomayer University Hospital has taken off on a more than one-year modernisation marathon, which includes this year’s major energy saving project in the Czech Republic. Once finished, patients and staff will see a significant improvement in indoor comfort, and the facility will significantly reduce the energy intensity of its operations: over 5 years, it will save 18 GWh of natural gas and 10 GWh of electricity. The project is being implemented via the energy performance contracting (EPC) method, meaning that the hospital’s savings are guaranteed directly in the contract. The project is being implemented by a consortium comprising METROSTAV DIZ, ENESA from the ČEZ ESCO Holding and METROSTAV.

ČEZ built a record 110 electric vehicle stations last year

• For the first time in its history, ČEZ has put more than 100 stands into operation in one year, exceeding the previous record year of 2020 with 82 stations.

• ČEZ now operates 386 charging stations, whose total capacity has already exceeded 25 MW.

• In addition to large cities, highway charging is also increasing significantly - thanks to better infrastructure, electric cars have become a viable alternative for long journeys.

• The trend for 2022 will be charging hubs that allow 6 or more e-cars to draw power at the same time.

Despite the pandemic and the crisis in the energy and supply markets, the consumption at ČEZ public charging stations for electric vehicles in the Czech Republic grew last year. Drivers at the green stands of the largest Czech network drew a total of more than 3.5 million kWh of certified emission-free electricity. The dense map of points from Mariánské Lázně to Třinec, comparable to the coverage of larger chains of conventional petrol stations, grew last year by a record 110 stands. The network is growing thanks to a European grant from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), funds allocated by the Operational Programme Transport and ČEZ Group's own resources.

INVEN CAPITAL has successfully sold its stake in the Israeli start-up Driivz, increasing the value of the original investment many times over in three years

ČEZ Group's investment fund Inven Capital made its first investment in Driivz, a global EV charging infrastructure software company, in 2018. Over the following three years, the Israeli start-up attracted the attention of global investment players such as Volvo Group Venture Capital and Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR). The Driivz e-mobility platform is currently used by more than 800,000 drivers in 24 countries. In addition to a return of several times on the initial investment, the Driivz solution has been introduced to ČEZ Group, which uses it to manage its network of charging stations in the Czech Republic.
